An intimate, October elopement at Dolly Sods

Kendra and Austin's elopement at Dolly Sods was a perfect match for their desire for a meaningful, stress-free, and deeply personal wedding experience. Opting for an intimate ceremony with just the two of them, they embraced the serene beauty of Dolly Sods.

For Kendra and Austin, the decision to elope privately was driven by their desire to focus solely on their love and commitment. While they planned a wedding reception a few months later to celebrate with friends and family, their elopement day was all about them. Despite a bit of initial pushback from family members who wished to be part of the ceremony, the couple remained steadfast in their decision, knowing that this was the perfect way to begin their married life together. Thankfully, understanding and support from their loved ones soon followed, allowing Kendra and Austin to enjoy their special day without any lingering concerns.

Dolly Sods, with its breathtaking landscapes and early fall colors, provided the perfect location and it’s no secret that this is easily one of our favorite, and most popular spots for our elopement services.

As the sun began to set, the couple ran through the vibrant fields and explored the rugged beauty of the area. The golden hues of the sunset cast a magical glow over the Monongahela National Forest.

After their elopement, we joined Kendra and Austin at the Billy Motel for a celebratory drink. The cozy and stylish ambiance of the motel provided the perfect setting to unwind and reflect on the day. As we sipped our drinks, the conversation turned to their upcoming honeymoon in Iceland. The couple's excitement was palpable as they shared their plans to explore the land of fire and ice, a stark contrast to their WV adventures. When Kendra realized we shared her love of Iceland, she started brainstorming on how to have two elopements lol.

Their story is an inspiring reminder that a wedding, at its heart, is about two people and their commitment to each other. Whether it’s an elopement in the serene landscapes of West Virginia or a grand celebration with family and friends, the most important thing is that the day reflects the couple- both their personalities and what they truly want out of their day.

If a stress free wedding day sounds up your alley, give us a shout and we’ll make it happen!
