A colorful winter elopement at Blackwater Falls in Davis, WV

Elopements are all about creating a day that is uniquely yours, and Briane and Jacob did just that with their stunning and colorful elopement in one of the wonders of West Virginia. Traveling from New Jersey, the couple chose our magical home in the hills because it was where Briane had proposed (and then the next day, Jacob re-proposed) during a romantic weekend getaway a few years prior. Wanting to explore somewhere new, they chose the town of Davis, Thomas, and Blackwater Falls as the setting of their private elopement.

Briane dazzled in a custom pink wedding dress and Jacob complemented her perfectly in a bespoke purple suit. Their colorful outfits not only represented their individuality but also the joy and excitement of their elopement day. The day began at the charming Dandy Flats in Thomas, WV, where Briane and Jacob got ready in separate rooms to maintain the element of surprise. Thomas, known for its artsy vibe and historic charm, was the perfect backdrop to kick off the day. With the frigid February temperatures, we arranged for their first look at a nearby art gallery. Surrounded by inspiring artwork, Briane and Jacob's first look was nothing short of magical.

For their ceremony, Briane and Jacob chose the forest near Blackwater Falls. The natural beauty of the forest, with its towering trees and serene ambiance, created an intimate and romantic setting for their vows. Despite the cold, the warmth of their love and the beauty of the surroundings made it a truly special and private moment.

Instead of our usual elopement picnic, the couple opted for a cozy, a la carte feast at The Billy Hotel to escape the cold. The motel's inviting atmosphere and delicious meals provided the perfect end to their adventurous day. The warm and welcoming environment of The Billy Hotel made their post-ceremony meal a delightful experience. To add a sweet touch to their celebration, we brought in a custom cake from Rock City Cake Co. and the thumbs up approval from Jacob the photos below is proof that it was top-notch.

As the evening drew to a close, Jacob serenaded Briane by the fireplace in the lobby of The Billy Hotel. It was the perfect ending to their perfect day.
